What Makes Us Happy?
As part of National Children's Mental Health Week, we asked the question, "What makes you happy?" We have a beautiful 'Happiness Tree' in the Pink Hall where children, friends, families and staff are encouraged to write on a label what makes them happy.
Children have been out in the garden this week and some of the babies have even taken their naps outside in the beautiful fresh air. On Tuesday it was really windy - a perfect excuse to make a kite with a reusable plastic bag! On Wednesday Forest School took part in the RSPB's Big Garden Birdwatch. On Thursday the children attended Street dance class or went in the garden to learn the Makaton sign language song to 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears'. But all throughout the week and everyday in the whole year, children have been praised, listened to, their thoughts and ideas encouraged and extended and cuddles. We are proud of all our children here at nursery and they are a credit to all our lovely families.
Our staff are just as important. On Thursday, we took part in the 'Time to Talk' campaign and we put down our mobile phones on our lunch break and committed time to talk to a work friend about anything and everything. Sarah made the cosy Hygge Hut in the garden extra special by adorning it with fairy lights and hot chocolate with marshmallows!
