Did you know that it's National Squirrel Appreciation Day on Tuesday 21st January? We have been learning about Squirrels recently.
Children attending Forest School have absolutely loved the new game 'Secret Squirrels' and have been keeping warm by hopping, jumping, skipping and moving around the woods.
Some of the children helped to make a drey for the squirrels by collecting different size twigs and learning how to safely manage and carry them around the woods.
We looked at books, posters and found out that their tails really help them to keep balanced and also warm when they are cosy in their drey.
One of the highlights was a treasure hunt around the woodland. Children loved looking for hidden treasures. They brought back their acorns with numbers written on them and we counted how many we found.
