Hedge's Bakery is back open again this week. Emma has been running her popular baking sessions and the bread roll hedgehogs and peach cobbler were a huge hit!
Emma plans her recipes according to the season, theme or particular book. We look forward to Cheese and Tomato Catherine Wheels, Fruit Rockets and Traffic Light Biscuits to name just a few.
Emma is delighted with her regular baking sessions and notes that many of the children are very confident and will often start using the cutters or kneading the dough without instructions. Baking is such a valuable activity that promotes children's creativity, problem solving, physical development, social skills, communication and is a great basis for science. Emma offers opportunities to problem solve, think about the resources they need, measure, count, weigh, predict, notice changes and of course taste!
