Now more than ever we need to focus on children's well being, mental health & personal, social development needs. Here at St. Michael's we are embracing Hygge the Danish concept of living in the moment, cosiness and a feeling of contentment. The whole nursery enjoy outdoor sessions, 'Wild hygge' in our woodland area. We have a beautiful large garden and plenty of fresh air and even our very youngest children have a dedicated safe and secure garden area. We realise that it has been scientifically proven that spending time outside has positive physiological changes to your brain, boosting & regulating mood & a general better state of well being. Our children and the team can definitely verify that! We have had great fun playing in the mud, feeding the birds, cleaning out our pet rabbit, playing football, playing in the mud kitchen and enjoying art outside.
