Emma Receives Royal Award
We are very excited to share with you our congratulations to Emma who has received the Platinum Champions Award for Royal Voluntary Service.
Emma is not only a long term member of our nursery team at St. Michael’s, but has given hours of her time to Young People vs Cancer ( previously CLIC) and also dedicated time to the Girl Guiding Association running local Rangers and Brownies.
We couldn't let this incredible achievement pass without a celebration so we have been secretly putting plans in place to congratulate Emma - modest as she is! During our Leavers' Evening, (a wonderful annual event where families of our school leavers are invited to attend), we arranged for her to be surprised. Peter Jerrett, the Volunteer Engagement Co-ordinator had nominated Emma months ago so it was only fitting that he presented Emma with this prestigious award. Jenny and Kevin from North Devon Fundraisers and Emma's Mum and Stepdad also surprised Emma with a bouquet of flowers adorned with written messages of appreciation and from fellow volunteers. Emma Hedge presented Emma with a Platinum Award worthy cake made with whipped cream and fresh strawberries.
We are super proud Emma, with over 5,000 nominations, only 490 Awards in the UK and only 3 in this area of Devon. Thank you Emma for all you do - many congratulations on your well deserved award.
