We are so fortunate to have a large wild area beyond our large garden. The role play area has been enhanced greatly by the most fantastic mud kitchen. This area benefits children with turn taking, communication skills, vocabulary, social skills & sharing their existing knowledge and experience from home. They have access to water where this completely changes the consistency & texture to their 'cooking'. Mathematics is a huge learning opportunity where the children have the ability to mix, add, weigh, measure and compare. The children's physical development and fine motor skills are enhanced by using a variety of utensils to encourage hand eye coordination. By encouraging pouring, stirring, transferring, snipping, lifting, gripping & carrying, this all contributes to the children developing the muscles in their hands.
