We regularly discuss the topic recycling here at nursery and National Recycling Week was no different! We used lots of visual aids to learn about landfill and recycling centres. Sorting through different objects, learning what things are made from, stories and going on a litter pick where Katie Fox had already hidden some objects in the bushes, were all ways that got the children thinking about materials and how things can be reused or recycled. The children had great fun using the litter pickers and sorted the materials into categories: glass, cardboard, paper, metal and plastics.
