Dragonflies and Kindergarten have been up in the woods this week enjoying the story 'The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch' by Rhonda and David Armitage. Some of the children chose to make puppets and others helped to construct the string reaching the lighthouse. The children used hooks, scissors and a pulley system to help deliver the basket to Mr Grinling. We all acted out the story and played all day delivering things to our friends on either side of the hill.

We also had great fun constructing lighthouses using Lego and Duplo. We placed them on pebbles and rocks in the water tray and filled it up so we could float our boats on the ‘sea’. We understand that the light shines to warn the boats where the rocks are. We looked at maps and we played on our own play boat on the hill.
