Nature for Schools Certificate backed by David Attenborough

We are incredibly proud to have been awarded the 'Schools for Nature' certificate as part of the 'Save our Wild Isle' campaign, backed by the phenomenal conservationist, David Attenborough.

Save our Wild Isle website is full of inspirational stories, resources, campaign news and videos. We have been telling the Wild Isle crew all about the fabulous children here at St. Michael's and how all the age groups explore and learn about the world from a young age. Not only do we learn about the world, plant vegetables, plant flowers, step over ants, move caterpillars to safety and recycle materials, we are also very instrumental in our practice sharing news and ideas with other professionals and organisations. We have welcomed local nurseries to our setting to hear about the positive changes we have made and the positive impact it has on our children's knowledge, understanding, ethos and of course the environment.

We have 'Plastic Free Status' with Surfers Against Sewage and we are also contributors to the advisory platform, sharing simple and achievable ideas to make in nursery settings and schools.

We are so grateful to have received this certificate and we continue to love and show compassion to the world, nurture and encourage biodiversity and nurture young minds.

"We now have a few short years during which we can still make a choice. Where just enough remains of the natural world for it to recover. This starts and ends with us.”

Sir David Attenborough
