We are on a Learning Journey

Kim is our fabulous travelling teacher from 'The Learning Journey'. Kim visits us regularly to deliver the most fantastic Forest School and Outdoor Learning sessions based on Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics. Kim starts her sessions with a story, introducing characters and the plot. The children are then free to roam, explore and discover the natural world in Forest School. Kim sets up invitations to play and explore linked to the book. This invites children to investigate fun ideas, experiment, create, make, discuss, predict and test out their own theories.

The clay 'Blobsters' have been a creative success with children designing their own little clay characters and talking about their personalities. The children were also invited to make habitats for the toy animals and this involved making the most amazing Bivouac. This then went deeper to discuss hibernation and animals that are getting ready to 'overwinter'.

We look forward to seeing Kim back with us after half term for more fun!
