Worm Wednesday!

Do worms have taste buds? What is compost? What things can we put in compost to rot? These were all questions that we answered on Wednesday by inviting the children to dig and discover! We made our very own ecosystem using using pea gravel, soil, seeds and we cut off the top of a bottle to create a funnel to collect the moisture. We talked about things that can go in the compost and sadly we looked compost that had litter, single use plastics and polystyrene in. We know which compost the worms prefer! The children were so excited to learn that we were having spaghetti bolognese in the woods for lunch! Such a brilliant day!
